What Is Black Wild Rice?
Wild Rice has been historically gathered and eaten across North America, India and China. Now considered a delicacy in North America, it is prized for its distinctive flavour, impressive nutritional profile, and versatility in the kitchen.
Why Choose Black Wild Rice?
Black Wild Rice contains higher protein content than most other whole grains and is a rich source of essential vitamins and minerals including Magnesium, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium.
It has a unique, full nutty flavour with a satisfying soft-to-firm texture. Incredibly versatile, it works beautifully in salads, soups, pasta dishes and stuffing. It is also naturally gluten-free, making it an ideal wheat flour substitute for those with gluten sensitivities.
Cooking Instructions
Rinse the rice, place 125g in a large pan and stir in 450ml of boiling water. Return to the boil, cover, and simmer for 45–50 minutes until the grains have popped. Remove from the heat and keep the pan covered for a further 5 minutes, then fork through the grains and add a knob of butter.
Storage Instructions
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
Packaging
Eco-friendly 100% recyclable packaging. Re-sealable pouch for long-lasting freshness. Some larger sizes may have non-resealable packaging.
